The Principal's welcome

Mistake Creek State School plays an important role within the local community. It is seen as a vital hub for many school and nonschool activities. It is used as a meeting place for local organisations such as the Mistake Creek Progress Association and the Mistake Creek Playgroup.

Over the years the school has become a central focal point for fundraising events such as fetes/fun runs and community events like the traditional annual cricket match and tennis days. These community events also involve those children enrolled in Distance Education.

As the only school for at least 70 kilometres, the school provides one of the few opportunities many of the local children have to socialise and interact with their peers. Therefore Mistake Creek State School provides students with a safe and engaging learning environment that will allow them to develop their academic and social skills both within a school context and within the broader community.
